The CSV has one row per edition, kind (theme, word or form) and key, with Google, YouTube and total counts, the share of the index, and the number of new suggestions since the previous edition when there is one. Every row repeats the note that these are autocomplete observations, not search volume.

Methodology

What is counted

The unit is a distinct autocomplete suggestion returned by a search box, counted once per source. A phrase offered by both Google and YouTube counts once in each, so the Google and YouTube columns are separate and the total adds them. Nothing here is a number of searches, visits or people.

How it was collected

On October 31, 2026, a script sent 1,134 requests to the public suggest endpoints of Google and YouTube, in US English, from 21 seed phrases. Each seed was typed bare and with each letter from a to z added, which makes 27 variants per seed and per source. The pause between requests is a quarter of a second or more. The unfiltered collection held 1,513 Google and 1,031 YouTube suggestions.

What is kept

A suggestion enters the index when it contains the word larp or a form of it (larping, larper, larped, or a longer word built on larp). That leaves 1,026 Google and 861 YouTube suggestions. 652 suggestions without the word were collected along the way and are not part of the index. 5 were set aside because they carry a social handle or touch fraud, receipts, hacking or similar topics, and are not published or counted.

How themes are assigned

Each suggestion goes to one theme, by a fixed list of keywords applied in a fixed order: the first theme whose keywords appear wins. A suggestion that matches no theme lands in the long tail. The rules are public in the tools/build_state_of_larp.py script of this site, and a keyword rule is a judgment, not a measurement: a phrase can sit in a neighboring theme in another reading.

Limits

What is not here

Nothing about our own business is in this dataset: no business figures, no visitor or account data and no prices. Visitors' own searches are not in it either. The raw phrase list is not republished: the snapshot keeps short fingerprints of phrases, enough to compare one month with the next.

Compose a wallet screen of your own

My Larp Wallet turns the balances you type into a believable crypto wallet screen on your phone, with live prices. It is a prop for videos, skits and mockups. It holds no funds, connects to no blockchain and is never proof of anything.
