Larp apps for iPhone and Android: what exists, what to avoid, and why there is no APK or IPA
A larp app can be a store app, a web app on your home screen, or a file from a website, and the three ask very different things of your phone. What each route is, why My Larp Wallet ships no APK and no IPA, and the one rule that holds for every larp app: it never needs your recovery phrase.

A larp app reaches your phone by one of three routes: a store listing, a web app added to the home screen, or a file from a website. My Larp Wallet uses the second: there is no APK and no IPA, you open your wallet in Safari or Chrome and add it to the home screen. Whatever the route, a larp app never needs a recovery phrase or a private key, and one that asks for either is a trap.
The short answer: three routes onto your phone
"Larp app" is a loose search. If you meant the hobby, live-action role-play, that is a different subject (what larp means, in every sense). This page is about the other one: an app that draws a bank or crypto screen from numbers you type. Searches for it add words like Android, iPhone and application, and the results come in three shapes:
- A store listing. The app comes from the App Store or Google Play.
- A web app on the home screen. You open an address in the browser and add it to the home screen, where it opens full screen like an app.
- A file from a website. An APK on Android or an IPA on iPhone, or a cracked tool, sent as a link, a chat message or a video description.
The route matters more than the app, because each one asks something different of your phone and your trust.
What each route asks of you
| Route | What happens on your phone | The risk to check |
|---|---|---|
| Store listing | The store installs it after its own review. | Balance editing is often a paid upgrade, and store review is not a guarantee: Kaspersky found more than twenty phishing apps on the App Store in 2026, named to look like popular wallets. |
| Web app on the home screen | Nothing installs in the store sense: Safari or Chrome adds an icon to an address. | No permission prompt and no certificate, but a page can still ask for the wrong thing, so read what it asks. |
| File from a website (APK or IPA) | You hand the sender trust first: an enterprise certificate, a profile, or installing from unknown sources. | The highest: the cases on record go after recovery phrases and photos of them. |
Fourteen larp wallet apps we checked on 12 October 2026 were mostly web apps added to the home screen; the table with the rest of their differences is in 14 larp wallet apps, side by side. Prank and bank-style apps are mostly store listings, and we describe those in crypto prank apps and bank app simulators.
Why My Larp Wallet has no APK and no IPA
A larp wallet, also called a crypto wallet app simulator, is an app that shows a believable crypto wallet screen built from the balances you type in, for videos, skits, pitch decks and demos. It holds no funds and touches no blockchain.
My Larp Wallet is one, made by us, and it is a web app. Each wallet lives at its own address on mylarpwallet.com. There is no listing in the App Store or Google Play, and we publish no APK, no IPA and no TestFlight build. That is a choice, and it has a practical reason beyond avoiding a store: the browser already draws the screen full screen at your phone's native resolution, and installing a web app asks for no profile, no certificate and no permission. It also means any app file carrying the name was made by someone else.
The steps differ by phone, and each has its own page:
- iPhone and iPad: Safari, Page Menu or More, Share, Add to Home Screen, with Open as Web App on (larp wallet on iPhone, no IPA).
- Android: Chrome, the install bar or the three-dot menu, Install (larp wallet for Android, no APK).
- The whole comparison of APK, IPA, App Store and browser is in larp wallet app: APK, IPA, App Store or browser.
Apple documents this route for any website in its iPhone User Guide, and Google does the same for Chrome on Android.
The one rule: never a recovery phrase
A recovery phrase, or seed phrase, is the list of words that gives full control of a real wallet. A larp app holds nothing, so it has no use for one. That makes the rule easy to apply: if an app, a site or a person asks for a recovery phrase, a private key or a wallet connection, it is not a simulator, whatever it is called.
This is not theory. ESET described in 2022 more than 40 copycat websites of well-known wallets that handed out trojanized versions sending seed phrases to the attackers. Kaspersky reported in 2025 a trojan that reached iPhones partly through enterprise provisioning profiles and uploaded gallery photos looking for screenshots of recovery phrases. Neither case involved a simulator; both involved an app that looked like a wallet and was installed from the wrong place.
If you typed a recovery phrase into an app or site you do not trust, move the funds from the wallet it controls to a new wallet that you create fresh, as quickly as you can. Treat the old one as lost.
Five questions before you install any larp app
- Where does it come from? A store listing or the maker's own address, not a link in a chat.
- What does it ask for? An account and a payment are normal. A recovery phrase, a key or a wallet connection is not.
- Does it say what it is? Mockup, simulator or prop in its own copy, and no promise of real balances or withdrawals.
- Are its terms and refund readable before you pay?
- Can you tell who made it? A name, an email a person answers and official accounts you can verify.
What comes back for the "free" version of this search is mostly paid upgrades, token pages and files from unknown sources, and we went through each kind in what the free larp wallets really are. Using any of these tools to show someone a balance as real, to get a payment or trust, is fraud, not a prop; see larp money: where a prop becomes fraud.
Your next step
If a wallet screen for a video, a skit or a deck is what you were looking for, the My Larp Wallet homepage shows the wallet, its live prices and how to get it. It is a paid web app, and your wallet then opens at its own address on your phone.

Questions
What is a larp app?
In the money and crypto sense, a larp app draws a bank or wallet screen from numbers you type in, for videos, skits, decks and demos. It holds no funds. The word larp also names a hobby, live-action role-play, which has nothing to do with these apps.
Is there a larp app for iPhone?
Yes, by two routes: apps listed in the App Store, and web apps that Safari adds to the Home Screen. My Larp Wallet is the second kind, so there is no IPA to download. Any IPA offered under its name came from somebody else.
Is there a larp app for Android?
Yes: listings in Google Play, and web apps that Chrome installs from their own address. My Larp Wallet ships no APK. Open your wallet in Chrome and install it from the wallet bar or the three-dot menu.
Is a larp app safe?
It depends on what it asks of you. A simulator needs only the numbers you type. One that asks for a recovery phrase, a private key, a wallet connection or an install file from a link is not a simulator, and security researchers have documented wallet-shaped apps built to steal exactly that.
What about cracked or unofficial larp apps?
Avoid them. The unofficial versions people search for are mostly store apps with a paid upgrade, token pages, APK files, cracked tools or keys sold in chats. The risks sit in the last group, and our page on that search goes through each kind.
