The rule that exists nowhere else
Apple states it plainly: you must use the same Apple Watch screenshot size consistently across all localisations of the app. On every other platform you can localise freely and let each set be what it is. Here, picking a size is a decision you make once for the whole listing.
The practical consequence is that the choice is not really about which watch you own. It is about which size you are willing to produce in every language you ship.
These are small canvases, and that is the design brief
The largest size on the list is 422 pixels wide. At that width a screenshot holds one idea: a number, a state, a single control. Anything that works by showing a list of things will be unreadable, and no amount of exporting at a higher resolution changes it — the size is fixed by the slot, not by your export.
