How many Bitcoin for a million dollars
At the saved price of $77,539.38, a million dollars is about 12.90 BTC. Only about 20.1 million BTC exist in circulation, and the cap is 21 million, so a stake of that size is a minute share of the whole: under 0.0001%. This is the one coin on the page where the question is about whole coins, not thousands or billions of them.
The reverse question is the famous one: with 1 BTC, what price makes you a millionaire? The answer is $1,000,000, which is 12.9x today's price and a market cap of $20.1 trillion. That is 4.02x as big as Apple's market cap in our saved comparison, so a single-coin millionaire is a bigger claim than it sounds.
Figures above use saved CoinGecko prices and supply as of Oct 31, 2026, 22:33 UTC, and Apple's market cap of about $5.00 trillion as of Oct 31, 2026 (companiesmarketcap.com). The calculator swaps in live prices when your browser can reach CoinGecko.
A supply with a known end
Bitcoin was created in 2009 by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto, and its supply stops at 21 million coins. About 894,635 remain to be created, and the rate falls every four years or so when the block reward halves; the most recent halving was in April 2024. Some coins are also lost for good, which makes the real supply smaller than the number on the screen.
Because new supply is small and predictable, Bitcoin is the easiest coin to reason about with this calculator. Nothing in the market cap line changes unless the price does, and the share of supply you would own is a fixed fraction of a number that grows by less than a percent a year.

Fractions of a coin
Few people need a whole coin to take part. One BTC splits into one hundred million units called satoshis, so a million dollars in sats is a long number you will not need to count. The table rows use 0.1, 0.5, 1, 5 and 10 BTC. A bag of 0.5 BTC needs $2,000,000 per coin, which is 25.8x today's price. A bag of 10 BTC needs $100,000, 1.29x today's price.

What this does not say
The what if assumes a clean sale at one price. A bag of several coins would move the market if sold at once, and taxes and fees come out of the result. Treat the output as a way to size a goal, never as a promise of where a price will be.
Questions
How many Bitcoin do I need to be a millionaire?
About 12.90 BTC at the saved price of $77,539.38 from Oct 31, 2026. The page replaces that with the live price when CoinGecko is reachable. (Saved CoinGecko prices as of Oct 31, 2026.)
Is 1 Bitcoin enough to be a millionaire?
Only if the price is $1,000,000, which is 12.9x the saved price of $77,539.38. At that price Bitcoin's market cap would be $20.1 trillion. (Saved CoinGecko prices as of Oct 31, 2026.)
How many Bitcoin are left to be created?
About 894,635 of the 21 million, according to the circulating supply CoinGecko lists today. Some already-created coins are lost, so the usable supply is smaller than the headline number. (Saved CoinGecko prices as of Oct 31, 2026.)
How the numbers are made
Prices and circulating supply come from CoinGecko. This page ships with a saved copy dated Oct 31, 2026, 22:33 UTC and swaps in live prices when your browser can reach CoinGecko. Nothing you type leaves your device. The comparison company is Apple, at about $5.00 trillion (rounded, read on Oct 31, 2026 from companiesmarketcap.com). Fees, taxes and the price impact of selling are not included.
