The Solana count for a million dollars

At the saved price of $95.78, a million dollars is about 10,441 SOL. That is a number an individual can actually hold: it is 0.0018% of the 590 million SOL in circulation. Compared with a coin priced in cents, Solana asks for thousands of coins, not millions or billions, so the question is closer to a savings goal than to a lottery ticket.

The second half of the calculator turns the question around. With 100 SOL, a million dollars needs $10,000 per coin, which is 104x today's price. At that price Solana would be worth $5.90 trillion, which is 3.79x as big as Bitcoin's market cap today and 1.18x as big as Apple's.

Figures above use saved CoinGecko prices and supply as of Oct 31, 2026, 22:33 UTC, and Apple's market cap of about $5.00 trillion as of Oct 31, 2026 (companiesmarketcap.com). The calculator swaps in live prices when your browser can reach CoinGecko.

Where the supply comes from

Solana's main network went live in March 2020 and combines proof of stake with a clock-like mechanism called proof of history. It has no fixed maximum supply. New SOL is issued as staking rewards on a schedule that declines over time, and holders who delegate their coins to validators earn a share of it.

That matters for the what if. Staking rewards add to a holder's coin count, while issuance adds to the total supply, so a staker and a non-staker see different bags for the same starting amount. The calculator ignores rewards on purpose and treats your count as fixed; if you stake, add your expected rewards to the number you type.

What the table says about bigger prices

Because the supply is 590 million, each extra thousand dollars of price adds a lot of market cap. A price of $1,000 gives $590 billion, which is 37.9% as big as Bitcoin's market cap today. A price of $5,000 gives $2.95 trillion, which is 59.0% as big as Apple's.

Read the rows as a ladder. A bag of 1,000 SOL needs only $1,000 per coin for a million dollars, which is 10.4x today's price, while a bag of 10 SOL needs $100,000 per coin. Most of the difference between a plausible row and a stretch is simply how many coins the bag holds.

A what if, with limits

Network outages, fee changes and new competitors all affect a price, and none of them appear in a division. Use the numbers to size a goal, then check them against the market on the day you decide anything.

Questions

How many Solana do I need to be a millionaire?

About 10,441 SOL at the saved price of $95.78 from Oct 31, 2026, which is 0.0018% of the 590 million SOL in circulation. The page replaces the saved price with the live one when CoinGecko is reachable. (Saved CoinGecko prices as of Oct 31, 2026.)

Does Solana have a maximum supply?

No fixed maximum is listed. New SOL is issued as staking rewards on a schedule that declines over time, so the supply grows slowly and the market cap is always price times the coins in circulation today.

What price would 100 SOL need to be worth a million dollars?

$10,000 per coin, which is 104x today's price, with a market cap of $5.90 trillion. That is 3.79x as big as Bitcoin's market cap today. (Saved CoinGecko prices as of Oct 31, 2026.)

How the numbers are made

Prices and circulating supply come from CoinGecko. This page ships with a saved copy dated Oct 31, 2026, 22:33 UTC and swaps in live prices when your browser can reach CoinGecko. Nothing you type leaves your device. The comparison company is Apple, at about $5.00 trillion (rounded, read on Oct 31, 2026 from companiesmarketcap.com). Fees, taxes and the price impact of selling are not included.
