The first row is the frame alone at that scale. Other rows are canvas sizes: set the padding and rotation noted, then place the PNG on a background of that size.

Start from the largest iPhone canvas

A mockup is only as sharp as the screen you place in it. The iPhone 17 Pro Max screen is 1320 × 2868 pixels, so a source image at that size fills the glass at native density with no scaling. Start here and you can always shrink for a smaller phone, because scaling down keeps detail while scaling up invents it. App Store Connect follows the same logic: Apple says you only need to supply the highest required resolution and it scales the rest down, which is why many teams capture on the biggest phone first.

The frame we draw adds a black glass border of 3 pt and a metal edge of 2.2 pt around that screen, so the device measures 450.4 × 966.4 pt before the side buttons and 455.2 × 966.4 pt with them. At 3x that is a 1366 × 2899 px image with no padding at all. The edge is a simplified drawing with a soft highlight, not a copy of an official render, which keeps it clean in front of a flat color or a gradient.

Make a large phone look large

On a Pro Max the content area is tall: the safe area leaves 62 pt at the top and 34 pt at the bottom, and the status bar takes 54 pt. Those bands are what tell a viewer the phone is big, so keep the status bar in your source image rather than cropping it away. Crop too tight and the phone reads as a smaller model.

Give it room as well. A padding of 8 to 12 percent leaves space for the shadow and for a rotation of a few degrees, which is usually all a hero image needs. If the mockup goes into a slide, a vertical video frame or a thumbnail, export once at the scale you need and place the PNG there instead of resizing a small export upward.

Choose a finish that sits well on your background

Five finishes are drawn for this model: graphite, silver, sand, ember and deep blue. Dark finishes disappear into a dark background, so pair graphite with a light or saturated gradient and silver with a deep one. Each finish is a metal gradient with a bright edge line, the way soft light catches a real frame, but built from our own colors.

Questions

What size is a screenshot from the iPhone 17 Pro Max?

1320 × 2868 pixels at 3x, which is 440 × 956 points. The same pixel size is used by iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Can I use my own screenshot or design as the screen?

Yes. Drop a PNG or JPEG on the preview or choose a file. It is read by your browser and painted onto the canvas, so it is never sent to a server. The Fill option covers the glass, Fit keeps the whole image on black.

Is this the official Apple frame?

No. The frame is drawn by us from public screen dimensions and is not Apple artwork. We are not affiliated with Apple.

Why is there a small mylarpwallet.com mark?

It credits the maker. Members of My Larp Wallet can remove it when signed in.
